Note: Must be admitted in good standing to the Massachusetts bar and have 2 years of hands-on insurance defense litigation experience.

Job Description

• Manage a diverse litigation caseload from initial evaluation through resolution.
• Develop case strategy and work closely with senior attorneys on complex matters.
• Draft and argue dispositive discovery and other substantive motions.
• Conduct legal research and apply statutes regulations and case law to complex fact patterns.
• Take and defend depositions involving parties witnesses and experts.
• Prepare witnesses and participate in hearings conferences settlement negotiations and trials.
• Evaluate liability damages exposure and overall case risk.
• Communicate effectively with clients insurers experts opposing counsel and other stakeholders.
• Prepare pleadings discovery correspondence legal memoranda and other litigation documents.
• Handle matters independently while contributing to a collaborative litigation team.
• Maintain strong attention to detail professional judgment and high ethical standards.

Qualifications

• Massachusetts bar admission in good standing required.
• 2 years of hands-on insurance defense litigation experience.
• Strong civil litigation background with experience in personal injury professional liability business insurance or related matters.
• Demonstrated experience with depositions motion practice discovery hearings and settlement negotiations.
• Strong legal research writing oral advocacy and case-management skills.
• Ability to independently manage multiple matters deadlines and competing priorities.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with clients insurers experts and colleagues.
• Admission to Rhode Island New Hampshire or Connecticut bar is a plus.
