Job Summary
The Line Lead at Jabil Inc. is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the activities of a production line to ensure efficient operations adherence to quality standards and timely completion of production targets. This role involves leading a team of operators troubleshooting issues and maintaining a safe and productive work environment.
Job Responsibilities
Supervise and lead a team of production operators providing guidance training and performance feedback.
- Monitor production processes to ensure compliance with established procedures quality specifications and production schedules.
- Troubleshoot and resolve production issues equipment malfunctions and material flow problems promptly to minimize downtime.
- Conduct regular quality checks and inspections of products to ensure they meet Jabils high standards.
- Maintain accurate production records including output scrap rates and downtime.
- Ensure adherence to all safety regulations and company policies promoting a safe working environment.
- Collaborate with engineering maintenance and quality assurance teams to optimize production processes and address systemic issues.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
- Train new operators on line procedures equipment operation and safety protocols.
- Communicate production status concerns and achievements to management.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associates degree in a technical field preferred.
- Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing or production environment with at least 1 year in a lead or supervisory role.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team in a fast-paced production setting.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes quality control principles and safety regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents blueprints and production schedules.
- Proficiency in using basic computer applications (e.g. Microsoft Office Suite).
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills both written and verbal.
- Ability to work flexible hours including shifts weekends and overtime as required.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive tasks.
