Job Summary
Legal Support Resource needed to provide legal communication organizational and decision-making support to the Legal Department managing multiple projects with competing deadlines in a self-motivated capacity.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Assist in preparing responses to foreclosure actions bankruptcy actions and other legal process responses
- Track status of foreclosure cases and Sheriffs sales involving IHCDA
- Prepare legal documents such as contracts mortgage/lien releases reports budgets and internal communications
- Sort analyze and distribute mail within the legal department
- Assist Legal Counsel with word processing filing and document transmittal services
- Transmit legal correspondence to clients customers outside counsel and court officials via e-filing mail fax or messenger
- Manage special projects including tracking progress coordinating meetings and maintaining organized case files
- Review and update the SharePoint contracts database
- Perform records and legal research check legal forms for accuracy and prepare/draft contracts and amendments
- Perform other tasks as needed and assigned
Experience
- 2 years in a law firm government legal department corporate legal department or equivalent setting with exposure to legal terms/procedures
- 2 years in the same position/employer
