Job Summary
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in subsea mechanical structural ocean or petroleum engineering
(advanced degree preferred). - Subsea/SURF engineering experience in offshore energy decommissioning
or major subsea projects. - Strong proficiency with subsea engineering tools (e.g. OrcaFlex Flexcom PipeLay
SAGE). - Experience with subsea decommissioning removal engineering ROV operations and
regulatory compliance. - Excellent communication problemsolving and crossdiscipline coordination skills.

Role Summary
The Lead SURF (Subsea Umbilicals Risers & Flowlines) Engineer is responsible for providing subsea engineering leadership and technical expertise for the Equinor Titan Decommissioning Project. This role supports planning engineering and execution of subsea decommissioning activities including riser abandonment pipeline decommissioning subsea structure interface engineering and offshore execution support. The Lead SURF Engineer works closely with structural marine wells construction SSU and regulatory teams to ensure safe compliant and efficient delivery of subsea scopes.
Key Responsibilities
SURF Engineering Leadership & Technical Delivery
- Provide seniorlevel subsea engineering expertise.
- Develop subsea technical documentation aligned with Worley and Equinor
requirements. - Ensure subsea engineering work complies with applicable design codes (API DNV ISO)
and U.S. offshore regulatory frameworks (BSEE BOEM USCG).
Subsea Decommissioning & Removal Engineering
- Lead engineering for subsea decommissioning including cutting recovery flushing
purging cleaning and remediation activities. - Develop engineering inputs for removal procedures work packs SIMOPS planning and
offshore execution sequences. - Support ROV intervention engineering equipment specification tooling interfaces and
offshore support requirements.
Interface Management & MultiDiscipline Coordination
- Coordinate SURF interfaces with structural marine pipeline construction and
regulatory teams. - Support integration of subsea work scopes into overall decommissioning plans marine
spread plans and SIMOPS strategies. - Respond to technical queries (TQs) vendor clarifications and offshore execution
support needs.
Documentation Reporting & Regulatory Compliance
- Prepare subsea engineering deliverables including basis of design calculations
drawings specifications and technical reports. - Ensure subsea documentation aligns with Equinor governing documents and meets all
U.S. regulatory requirements. - Support audits technical assurance reviews and closeout documentation for subsea
decommissioning activities.
