We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Lead Substation Engineer to join our team at K&A Power Group in New Jersey remote. In this role you will have the opportunity to work on exciting and challenging projects that make a real impact in the energy and utility sectors. Role Expectations:

• Lead the design and engineering of high voltage substations (up to 500kV) including physical layout protection & control grounding and equipment specifications
• Serve as the technical authority for substation engineering deliverables ensuring accuracy compliance and quality
• Oversee and mentor a team of engineers and designers; provide technical guidance and review work products
• Coordinate with project managers construction teams and clients to ensure alignment on scope schedule and technical requirements
• Prepare and review engineering calculations drawings bill of materials and technical documentation
• Support field activities including site assessments commissioning support and issue resolution
• Ensure compliance with industry standards (NESC IEEE NEC) utility requirements and company engineering practices
• Manage project timelines budgets and resource planning for assigned engineering tasks
• Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes tools and standards

What were looking for:

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (required); PE license strongly preferred
• 8 years of substation engineering experience including leadership or lead engineer responsibilities
• Strong knowledge of high voltage substation design protection & control and applicable industry standards
• Experience working with utilities EPC firms or large scale power delivery projects
• Proficiency with engineering software such as AutoCAD MicroStation ETAP or similar tools
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to travel for site visits and attend the designated office one day per week
