Job Description:

The ODA Engineering Unit Member will be responsible for reviewing and approving aircraft modification engineering and repairs on behalf of the extensive background in aircraft structural analysis and exposure to a wide range of aircraft structural modifications is required. Current FAA delegations either through an ODA or as an FAA DER.

Essential Functions:

  • Technical approval of structural aspects of aircraft modification and repairs including drawings and substantiation reports.
  • Coordinating certification activities with other structures Unit Members other disciplines in the certification team and with the engineering organizations seeking certification.
  • Reviewing engineering drawings and reports to determine compliance with applicable criteria including coordination with engineering to address deficiencies.
  • FAA delegations in the structures discipline as either a DER or an ODA Unit Member.
  • Must be able to travel as required. (estimated 10% or less)
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
  • Ability to work overtime as required.
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree with nine (9) years of Aerospace Structural and/or Stress analysis experience.
  • Graduate Degree with seven (7) years of Aerospace Structural and/or Stress analysis experience.
  • In lieu of a degree minimum of 13 years of Aerospace Structural and/or Stress analysis experience.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen.

PreferredAdditional Skills:

  • Active Secret Clearance.
  • Metallic and composite structure experience.
  • Civil certification and military certification experience.
  • Degree in Aerospace Mechanical or Civil Engineering.
