Primary Responsibilities
- Apply analytical methods finite element models simulations and other engineering tools to develop models perform structural and dynamic analyses conduct calculations reduce test data and correlate results.
- Partner closely with design and manufacturing teams to deliver high-performance structures that meet demanding requirements for performance manufacturability and schedule.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
- Possess 48 years of relevant industry experience with a bachelors degree or 26 years with a masters degree.
- Demonstrated experience with any of the commercial finite element analysis tools (e.g. FEMAP/NX NASTRAN PATRAN/MSC NASTRAN ANSYS Abaqus etc.).
- Strong technical writing presentation and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
- Capable of working as part of a larger analysis team or working as the sole analyst on a project.
- U.S. citizenship and a current Final Secret Clearanceor eligibility to obtain and maintain one.
- Residence in or willingness to relocate to the Huntsville Alabama area.
Preferred Qualifications
- Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with a 3.5 or higher GPA.
- Advanced expertise in
- Linear and nonlinear contact FEA
- Application of nonlinear material properties to both FEA and hand calculations
- Integrated multi-physics analysis
- Bolted joint and weld analysis
- Dynamics analysis (modal response spectrum shock vibration)
- Bolted joint and weld analysis
- Fatigue analysis
- Composite materials analysis
- Thermal analysis
