Primary Responsibilities

• Apply analytical methods finite element models simulations and other engineering tools to develop models perform structural and dynamic analyses conduct calculations reduce test data and correlate results.
• Partner closely with design and manufacturing teams to deliver high-performance structures that meet demanding requirements for performance manufacturability and schedule.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university.
• Possess 48 years of relevant industry experience with a bachelors degree or 26 years with a masters degree.
• Demonstrated experience with any of the commercial finite element analysis tools (e.g. FEMAP/NX NASTRAN PATRAN/MSC NASTRAN ANSYS Abaqus etc.).
• Strong technical writing presentation and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Proven ability to thrive in a collaborative multi-disciplinary engineering environment.
• Capable of working as part of a larger analysis team or working as the sole analyst on a project.
• U.S. citizenship and a current Final Secret Clearanceor eligibility to obtain and maintain one.
• Residence in or willingness to relocate to the Huntsville Alabama area.

Preferred Qualifications

• Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering Aerospace Engineering or equivalent degree from an ABET-accredited university with a 3.5 or higher GPA.
• Advanced expertise in
  • Linear and nonlinear contact FEA
  • Application of nonlinear material properties to both FEA and hand calculations
  • Integrated multi-physics analysis
  • Bolted joint and weld analysis
  • Dynamics analysis (modal response spectrum shock vibration)
  • Bolted joint and weld analysis
  • Fatigue analysis
  • Composite materials analysis
• Thermal analysis
