Essential Responsibilities:
- Lead the design development and delivery of scalable secure cloud-native enterprise applications supporting critical business functions.
- Architect and implement microservices APIs event-driven systems and distributed applications with a focus on performance resiliency and high availability.
- Develop modern responsive user experiences using React TypeScript JavaScript HTML5 and CSS3.
- Build and maintain backend services using Java Spring Boot Kafka and containerized architectures.
- Partner with Product UX Architecture and Engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
- Drive engineering excellence through architecture reviews code quality standards automated testing CI/CD and DevOps best practices.
- Mentor software engineers provide technical leadership and influence architectural decisions across delivery teams.
- Evaluate and implement emerging technologies including Generative AI Large Language Models (LLMs) RAG Agentic AI and enterprise AI platforms.
- Bachelors degree or equivalent work experience
- Six to eight years of relevant experience
- Expertise in Distributed Systems Microservices Architecture RESTful APIs and Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA) with experience building scalable high-throughput applications.
- Strong proficiency in Java Spring Boot TypeScript JavaScript (ES6) HTML5 and CSS3.
- Experience developing cloud-native applications on Azure and/or AWS including containerized deployments.
- Hands-on expertise with Kafka Kubernetes Rancher Istio Apigee Jenkins/CloudBees GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
- Strong understanding of software design patterns application architecture resiliency security observability monitoring and reliability engineering.
- Experience implementing automated testing frameworks including Jest React Testing Library Cypress and Playwright.
- Knowledge of AI/ML application development including Generative AI LLMs RAG Agentic AI LangChain LangGraph Semantic Kernel MCP Azure OpenAI OpenAI Anthropic or Gemini.
- Proven ability to lead complex initiatives in Agile and DevOps environments influence technical direction and collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders.
Location expectations
This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.

The salary range reflects figures based on the primary location which is listed first. The actual range for the role may differ based on the location of the addition to salary U.S. Bank offers a comprehensive benefits package including incentive and recognition programs equity stock purchase 401(k) contribution and pension (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). Pay Range: $126820.00 - $149200.00U.S. Bank will consider qualified applicants with arrest or conviction records for employment.
