About the Opportunity


The Lead Program Associate serves as the frontline leader for daily operations at Bethany Womens Center. This role combines leadership direct client engagement crisis response operations and program coordination to ensure every woman receives compassionate trauma-informed person-centered care. You will mentor staff support volunteers and interns coordinate daily activities respond to emergencies and help create a safe welcoming environment.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coach Program Associates interns and volunteers.
  • Coordinate daily program operations and ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • Welcome clients and provide trauma-informed person-centered support.
  • Assist with meals showers laundry clothing distribution and day services.
  • Connect clients with internal and community resources.
  • Respond to crises using de-escalation and agency protocols.
  • Complete incident reports shift reports and required documentation.
  • Monitor facility safety cleanliness inventory and readiness.
  • Support meal service and food safety practices.
  • Assist with scheduling onboarding mentoring and training.
  • Serve as acting site lead in the Program Managers absence.
  • Coordinate wellness programming workshops and community events.
  • Develop and distribute the monthly wellness calendar.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and community partners.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelors degree preferred in Social Work Human Services Psychology Public Health or related field.
  • Two years of experience in homeless services human services shelter operations or related field.
  • Strong communication leadership and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with individuals experiencing homelessness trauma behavioral health conditions and substance use disorders.
  • Basic computer proficiency; HMIS experience preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid and Food Handler Certification (or ability to obtain).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supervising frontline staff or volunteers.
  • Knowledge of community resources.
  • Bilingual candidates encouraged to apply.

Working Conditions


This essential onsite position requires standing walking bending reaching and occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds. Employees work in a fast-paced environment serving women experiencing homelessness and may respond to crisis situations. Occasional evenings weekends or holidays may be required.
