LabCorp is seeking a Clinical Laboratory Support Services Team Leader to join our teamat Ascension Columbia St. Marys Hospital - Ozaukee Campus in Mequon WI.
Work Schedule: 1st shift; Weekdays 8:30am - 5:00pm with rotating weekends and holiday rotation
Job Responsibilities:
- Assistin the supervision of theday to dayoperations of the core laboratory and blood bank clinical laboratory departments
- Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
- Monitoroperateand troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
- Help lead the team in their daily processes and procedures
- Assistwith preparation of laboratory specimens for analysis and testing
- Oversee routing of specimens to their respective prep areas
- Encourage process improvements and best practices
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
- Resolve any production errors as requested by management
- Research and resolve any production errors while escalating when necessary
- Engage in continuous process and service level improvements
- Perform quality assurance checks to ensure efficiency and accuracy
- Responsible for enforcing and managing policies and procedures
- Perform administrative duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree in a Chemical or Biological science Clinical Laboratory Science Medical Technology
- 4 or more years of experience as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) OR 2 or more yearsor moreof experienceas a Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLS)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in a Chemical or Biological science Clinical Laboratory Science Medical Technology
- 2 yearsor moreofexperience as a generalist
- 2 years or more of experience in blood bank
- 1 year or moreofexperience supervising or leading a team
- ASCPor AMTcertification
Additional Job Standards:
- In lieu of education requirements listed above non-traditional degrees with applicable science credits that meet CLIA standards may meet education requirement
- Strong working knowledge of CLIA CAP and relevant state regulations
- Understanding of laboratory operations as well as policies and procedures
- Excellent communication skills; both written and verbal
- Strong computer skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- High levelof attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills
- Strong critical thinking skills with the ability to make decisions in afast pacedenvironment
- Ability to handle the physical requirements of the position
- Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
