Lead Mechanical System Design and Analysis Engineer

The Boeing Defense Space & Security (BDS) organization is seekinga Lead Mechanical System Design Engineer to join the Air Vehicle Engineering team located in Oklahoma City Oklahoma.

A successful member of this team will understand and execute modifications and upgrades for the Mobility Surveillance and Bombers (MS&B) programs. The successful candidate will serve as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the Fuels system of the B-52 providing expertise in design and sustainment.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and documentation of mechanical and fluid system and thermal environment

  • Lead the development maintenance or modification of system designs/proposals to provide design documentation and high-level requirements to downstream users/customers

  • Perform detailed design development and modification of mechanical and fluid system installations

  • Prepare technical documents for mechanical components and systems

  • Prepare proposal and new business development efforts

  • Work with test program management for work estimation and intake process

  • Delegate tasks to design team and provide supervision to junior engineers.

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite in Oklahoma City OK

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering (with a focus on Mechanical Civil Aerospace Aeronautical or Material Sciences)

  • 9 years of experience in mechanical systems design

  • Practical experience and knowledge of Fuels Hydraulic Systems or ECS.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Experience with and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience reading and interpreting engineering schematics and specifications

  • Experience performing Mechanical System Design and Analysis

  • 3 years of experience designing tooling using CAD/CAM software preferably CATIA

  • Experience producing technical reports and presentations

  • Strong written verbal communications and presentation skills

  • Familiarity with engineering processes and methods

  • Experience working with cross functional teams
