Lead Maintenance Technician

About the Role: Northland is looking for an experienced pro-active Lead Maintenance Technician to supervise the maintenance team and oversee work orders and repairs at the community. Must be able to prioritize and schedule projects and staff for timely completion of projects. They are responsible for completing maintenance service requests and work orders including but not limited to HVAC electrical pool maintenance plumbing carpentry painting and housekeeping items. They will complete work orders and turn vacant apartments for move in in a timely an efficient manner while working safely and keeping an eye on budget. They maintain the highest level of professionalism and customer service to our residents vendors and guests.

As part of our promise to deliver a top-tier experience to our residents maintenance team members are required to handle after-hours emergency calls and be on-call as needed including nights and weekends.

Qualifications & Requirements: The individual must possess the following knowledge skills and abilities and be able to explain and demonstrate that they can perform the essential functions of the job with or without reasonable accommodation using some other combination of skills and abilities.

• Previous experience in general maintenance plumbing carpentry electrical HVAC and painting.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with staff residents and vendors.
• All maintenance employees are required to have their own hand tools to carry out job functions - other power tools will be provided.
• Must be able to work nights weekend and holiday shifts as part of the on-call responsibility.
• Travel may be required to assist other properties as needed or to attend training classes.
• Prior experience managing a team is strongly preferred.

Physical Requirements:

• Must be able to stand walk and/or sit for extended periods of time and climb bend and squat.
• Must be able to push pull lift and carry weights up to 50 pounds.
• Must be able to work inside and outside in all weather conditions.
• May be required to operate a golf cart on the property.
