Job Summary
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Lead Java Engineerto join the Spread Technology team in Fixed Income supporting asset classes such as Structured Products Credit and Municipal Bonds. This role is pivotal to the success of strategic initiatives Front Office Sales and Trading applications and is designed for engineers who thrive in high-performance front-to-back delivery environments.
You will lead the design and development of low-latency Micro UIs and robust backend services contributing to pricing and risk workflows. The ideal candidate will demonstrate technical leadership deep domain knowledge in capital markets and a passion for building scalable resilient software solutions using modern technologies such as Angular Java Spring Kafka and Apache Ignite.
In this role you will:
- Lead complex initiatives on selected domains
- Ensure systems are monitored to increase operational efficiency and managed to mitigate risk
- Define opportunities to maximize resource utilization and improve processes while reducing cost
- Lead design develop test and implement applications and system components tools and utilities models simulation and analytics to manage complex business functions using sophisticated technologies
- Resolve coding testing and escalated platform issues of a technically challenging nature
- Lead team to ensure compliance and risk management requirements for supported area are met and work with other stakeholders to implement key risk initiatives
- Mentor less experienced software engineers
- Collaborate and influence all levels of professionals including managers
- Lead team to achieve objectivesDesign low latency eTrading pricing and risk applications for Fixed Income asset classes such as Structured Products Credit and Municipal Bonds
- Implement low-latency HTTP and WebSocket-based real-time micro UIs using JavaScript/Typescript Angular AgGrid and other UI libraries
- Develop backend services using Java Spring Framework Kafka and Ignite
- Utilize build tools such as Maven or Gradle and ensure code quality using SonarQube.
- Provide technical support and resolve issues related to supported applications
- Create test data and conduct interface and unit tests.
- Design code test debug and document programs using Agile development practices
- Partner with production support and platform engineering teams effectively
Required Qualifications:
- 5 years of Specialty Software Engineering experience or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience training military experience education
- 3 years of Capital Markets Fixed Income domain
- 3 years of Bond Pricing Bond Risk Bond PnL and Position Management
- 3 yearsof experience in high-performance programming using Java or Python
- 3 yearsof experience in full stack development using Angular/Typescript for front-end and Java with Spring Framework for back-end
- 3 yearsof experience with Apache Kafka for messaging and stream processing
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience using OpenShift / Kubernetes container platforms
- Experience designing and delivering cloud-native microservices-oriented solutions at enterprise scale in financial services or regulated sectors
- Experience with test automation using tools such as Selenium.
- Strong understanding of performance and stress testing web UIs using Chrome DevTools
- 5 yearsof experience with Apache Kafka for messaging and stream processing
- 5 yearsof experience with Apache Ignite for in-memory computing.
- 5 yearsof experience with build tools such as Maven or Gradle
- 5 yearsof experience with code quality tools like SonarQube
- 5 yearsof experience as a Full Stack Developer with strong understanding of front-end and back-end development
- 5 yearsof experience with monitoring and observability tools such as Splunk Grafana AppDynamics New Relic Elastic or Open Telemetry

Pay Range
Reflected is the base pay range offered for this position. Pay may vary depending on factors including but not limited to demonstrated examples of prior performance skills experience or work location. Employees may also be eligible for incentive opportunities. $159000.00 - $254000.00
