Lead Design Engineer for Structural Castings

Roles and Responsibilities

• Execute the design analysis or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards practices procedures and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products
• Developing in-depth knowledge of a technical discipline. Uses prior experience and acquired technical expertise to execute policy/strategy.
• In-depth understanding of key business drivers; uses this understanding to accomplish own -depth understanding of how work of own team integrates with other teams and contributes to the area.
• Uses some level of judgment and has ability to propose different solutions outside of set parameters but with guidance. Uses prior experience and on-the-job training to solve straightforward tasks. Has access to technical skills and analytic thinking required to solve problems. May use multiple internal sources outside of own team to arrive at decisions.
• A job at this level is likely to be an individual contributor with proven interpersonal skills or an early people leader who can hire and develop talent. Provides informal guidance to new team members
• Will lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements using Flight Deck (GE Aerospaces proprietary lean operating model). Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university
• Minimum 3 years of experience in design engineering
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. is required. We will not sponsor individuals for employment visas now or in the future for this job opening

Desired Characteristics

• Masters degree in engineering from an accredited university or college
• Strong oral and written communication skills including demonstrated experience delivering high-level presentations to executive leadership.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
• Demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
• Ability to document plan strategize and execute programs using Flight Deck.
• Established project management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze & solve technical design challenges with sound documentation planning & program management skills.
• Experience with finite element analysis software such as ANSYS 3D modelling software such as NX Unigraphics and use of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with structural component design.

The base pay range for this position is $109250.00 - 146050.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidates experience education and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on June 1 2026.
