Tiggs Canteen Services is looking for a dependable and motivated individual to fill a Permanent Full-Time Lead Cook position at the DeKalb County Jail in Auburn Indiana.

• Job Title: Permanent Full-Time Lead Cook

• Location: DeKalb County Jail Auburn Indiana

• Starting Wage: $19.00 per hour

• Work Hours: Varying days and hours between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM

• Schedule: Must be available to work weekends and holidays

As our Lead Cook you will play an important role in supporting the kitchens daily operations. Responsibilities include:

• Leading directing and assisting inmate workers with kitchen activities

• Preparing cooking and baking meals

• Following company recipes and established food service procedures

• Assisting with meal preparation and daily kitchen operations

• Maintaining cleanliness and organization throughout the kitchen

• Performing kitchen cleanup and sanitation duties

• Following all procedures required in a structured correctional facility

We are seeking a candidate who is responsible team-oriented and ready to contribute to a positive working environment.

Applicants must meet the following requirements:

• High school diploma or equivalent

• Ability to read and follow company recipes

• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds

• Strong work ethic integrity and a positive attitude

• Ability to work effectively in a structured environment

• Willingness to learn follow instructions and support kitchen operations

• Ability to obtain the necessary facility clearance

Kitchen or food service experience is preferred but not required. We are willing to train the right person!
