Summary
Provides instruction for students that enables them to learn and demonstrate mastery of the Georgia Performance Standards
Essential Duties
- Prepares and plans for instruction of Latin classes
- Vertical teams with FC Latin Middle School feeder teacher
- Advocates on the importance of the Latin language in a Global Economy and seeks to provide unique opportunities to study the Latin language outside of the regular classroom setting
- Provides content-related and appropriate instruction based on Fulton Countys curriculum
- Provides classroom environment which promotes active learning in subject area
- Exhibits knowledge of performance-based instruction and assessment
- Communicates responsibly with students parents colleagues and school leadership
- Accounts for student attendance and punctuality
- Follows all county state and federal policies and procedures
- Follows professional ethics in all work-related activities
- Works collaboratively with other Fulton County Latin teachers
- Prepares adequately for responsibilities to be assumed when absent
- Works with parents/guardians in all aspects of the students educational program
- Facilitates home-school communication by such means as holding conferences telephoning and sending written communications Integrates appropriate technology into classroom instruction
- Avoids behaviors which detract from staff morale
- Performs other duties as assigned by the appropriate administrator
Required Education
Bachelors Degree from a regionally accredited university
Certification/Licensure
Must hold or be eligible for Certification in Latin
Experience Qualifications
0-1 year classroom experience required; High School teaching experience preferredÂ
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
- Proven communication and instructional strategies
- Classroom management skills
- Excellent organizational skills
