Primary Purpose:

The Landscape Design Build Crew Member for our Landscape Design Build Division would be a member of a crew of other laborers supported by a foreman. They will be responsible for performing a variety of work tasks (generally physical labor) to assist with the completion of landscape construction projects. The landscape laborer will be required to operate a variety of tools and equipment to carry out specified job tasks. This position is full-time reporting at 6:30 a.m.(start time can vary based on region) to the corporate office daily (Mon-Fri). This position requires Saturday work hours during peak season.

Major Responsibilities:

Assist in the preparation of jobsites prior to the beginning of a project

Operate various tools and equipment including: chainsaws jackhammers laser levels measurement equipment shovels hammers drills etc.

Assist in the construction of walkways fences decks posts etc.

Perform preventative maintenance on tools and equipment by conducting inspections lubricating and cleaning on a daily basis

Dig ditches or trenches

Perform land-clearing activities

Plant and maintain garden beds and lawns

Load and unload materials tools and equipment required to complete landscape construction projects

Transport materials using shovels wheelbarrows carts dollies and hand lifting/carrying

Assist Crew leader with job-related tasks

Wear appropriate personal protective equipment at all times

Work in accordance with all local health and safety laws and regulations

Working Conditions:

Physical demands require constantly moving walking stooping kneeling crouching or crawling. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder to perform work. Frequently operates machinery and will use hands/fingers and legs to operate activate use prepare inspect place detect and position materials. Frequently required to stand and walk lift and/or move up to 20 to over 50 lbs. with assistance. Specific vision abilities required include close vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus. Constantly required to communicate with ability to talk and hear. Job will require constantly working outdoors in all types of weather conditions and exposure to elements. This can include heavy to moderate noise extreme proximity to moving equipment or machinery proximity to electrical energy exposure to tools and machines used in construction industries.

Ability to work both independently with little supervision and as part of a team

Ability to walk stand crouch for long periods of time and carry out strenuous physical tasks
