| Job Description: | The Division of Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine is accepting applications for a Laboratory Technician II in Dr. Karina Serbans lab. The position will assist in conducting research within Dr. Serbans lab where she utilizes methods to measure biological responses in lungs affected by emphysema a respiratory disease caused by genetic mutations or by exposure to environmental toxins like cigarette smoke. Preferred applicant will have a degree in biology or a related field and 2 years of experience in a laboratory environment and possess knowledge of theory and practice of scientific techniques and experimentation. Previous lab experience with molecular biology techniques like PCR are required as well as experience with small animal handling/manipulation. About This Role: Plan and conduct animal experiments outlined by the Principal Investigator and the lab manager. Utilize established methods to induce various biological responses in the lung by exposing small animals inside a Teague machine to research grade cigarettes. Genotyping and keeping up-to-date electronic or written files of all transgenic colonies. Other duties as assigned. |
| Expected Salary: | $19.23 - $25.28; Commensurate with education and experience. |
