Position: Lab Technologist

Location: Sparks MD

Duration: 12 Months Contract

Total Hours/week: 40.00
Work hours: 40 hours per week. Flexible schedule.
B Shift: M-TH 7:00PM - 5:00 AM

Description:
(This posting is for the B shift lab times are 7:00PM - 5:00 AM Monday - Thursday. 4 ten hour shifts.)

Makes the panels. They will need to have at least 1-2 years experience in a laboratory setting familiar with GMP and able to follow all procedures in the making of panels for the assembly side of the business. Background of lab work in a hospital or clinic or where they went to college assisting in a lab dealing with solutions chemicals or antibiotics.

Job Overview
Responsible for manufacturing and assembling clinical and commercial products. Operates production equipment. Weighs measures and checks raw materials to ensure batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities. Assists with in-process testing to ensure batches meet specifications. Responsible for validating processes and equipment that are directly related to filtration cleaning and sterilization. Responsible for the removal and disposal of waste chemicals solvents and acids. Identifies troubleshoots and resolves complex issues associated with scientific operations.

Responsibilities and Duties
o Responsible for manufacturing and assembling clinical and commercial products. Operates production equipment.
o Weighs measures and checks raw materials to ensure batches manufactured contain proper ingredients and quantities.
o Assists with in-process testing to ensure batches meet specifications.
o Responsible for validating processes and equipment that are directly related to filtration cleaning and sterilization. Responsible for the removal and disposal of waste chemicals solvents and acids.
o Creates solutions powders and liquids for batches to meet specifications
o Provides training support for on-boarding and/or new procedures
o Provides support to the lead/supervisor when necessary
o Provides continuous improvement recommendations and/or solutions to support overall operational efficiency
o Demonstrates the ability to follow established procedures according to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
o Must follow all Client housekeeping policies and procedures
o Must follow all Client safety policies and procedures
o Must be able to work overtime as required to meet BD business requirements

Qualifications
Minimum Education/Experience:
o High school with technical certification in the area of laboratory operations plus 3 years laboratory experience AS degree in a scientific discipline with 2-3 years laboratory experience or BS degree in a scientific discipline plus 1-2 years laboratory experience

Basic Skills:
o Ability to demonstrate strong teamwork and communication skills
o Must be detail-oriented
o Strong time management skills required
o Ability to operate independently

Proficient/Working Skills:
o Must be proficient in English with the ability to read write analyze/evaluate charts follow simple diagrams and perform basic arithmetic
o Proficiency in MS Excel is required.
