ICE LPSL CPATH Clinical Laboratory

This position will report directly to the Laboratory Operations Director and work closely with the staff Supervisors and Managers of all departments. This position provides comprehensive support for patient care activities with the Outreach Program. Position duties:

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma GED or formal education equivalent.
• Two years of clinical laboratory experience
• Ability to follow oral instruction read and write.
• Computer/basic keyboard skills.
• Telephone etiquette skills.
• Must have excellent customer service skills.

Preferred Quaifications

• Associates degree or Technical Certificate
• Experience with medical coding/billing
  
  

Additional Information:

Job Requirements:

• Investigate outreach specimen issues by ensuring all patient demographics are obtained orders are correct and specimen reaches the proper laboratory department.
• Ensure all billing information is documented in EPIC.
• Ensure test is received in the correct tube/container type.
• Scan specimens into the EPIC system and re-label the specimens as needed.
• Enter orders into EPIC through requisition entry for all outside institutions.
• Process add-on test.
• Answers phone calls concerning results faxing reports specimen collection and ordering test.
• Scan requisitions received with labs from institutional accounts into EPIC.
• Call critical results to clinics as needed.
• Fill out all Safety Intelligence reports and deliver them to the Quality Manager.
• This position will perform other duties as assigned.
