We are looking for an Avionics Lab Engineer who combines superb technical capabilities with a demonstrated ability to get the right things done quickly and effectively. You will work with a team of top-notch engineers and will collaborate with multiple spacecraft design test and operations teams. You should be comfortable with a high degree of ambiguity and relish the idea of solving problems that havent been solved at scale before. Key job responsibilities
Configure and maintain lab computing systems (Windows/Ubuntu)
Execute design verification and qualification tests test rack and electrical enclosure design
Oversee lab spaces implement 5S organization principles order consumables track assets and inventory and coordinate logistics with shipping/receiving
Troubleshoot and repair avionics circuits
Read electrical schematics interpret mechanical drawings and install wiring for low voltage electrical and electronic devices
Perform soldering and identify/handle RF cables and connectors (e.g. SMA)
Assemble test racks cabinets wire harnesses and automation equipment
Write work instructions assess and improve processes and maintain attention to detail during routine operations

A day in the life
As an Amazon Leo Lab Engineer you will be hands-on every day assembling test hardware soldering RF and electrical connectors and keeping lab spaces clean and organized. You will set up and maintain Windows and Linux based systems perform design verification and qualification tests and troubleshoot electrical issues.

About the team
Our team designs tests and delivers avionics subsystems such as the flight computer power management and delivery RF and sensing subsystems on the satellite bus. Our team designs and delivers the test systems that enable qualifying and acceptance testing these hardware subsystems for the satellite. We take ownership and work hard to deliver the highest quality solutions to support the long-term success of Amazon Leo. This team consists of a broad set of technical backgrounds and we look forward to welcoming people that are excited to help us deliver broadband internet to underserved communities!

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering Electrical Engineering or equivalent work experience
- Experience in the Linux environment
- 2 years of electronics lab environments experience
- Experience testing electronics hardware

- Experience testing RF or power conversion/distribution systems.
- Experience executing design verification tests and qualification tests on avionics hardware.
- Ability to identify issues and escalate to development teams as appropriate
- Experience constructing automated test station hardware
- Familiar with test measurement equipment used in test campaigns including thermal chambers.
- Experience working with hardware and software teams for setting up testing and troubleshooting prototype devices

The base salary range for this position is listed below. Your Amazon package will include sign-on payments and restricted stock units (RSUs). Final compensation will be determined based on factors including experience qualifications and location.
