Responsibilities
As part of this exciting expansion Senior LIFE seeks a hardworking dedicated and compassionate Kitchen Assistant/Dietary Aide who in conjunction with the Kitchen Manager will prepare meals and assist members with eating and cleanup. As a core member of the kitchen staff theKitchen Assistant/Dietary Aidewill have many important responsibilities including:
Assisting in meal preparation and service
Setting tables setting up and serving trays and pouring beverages
Assisting during meal times as needed and visiting members in dining areas
Cleaning up dining dietary and day rooms before and after meal services
Ensuring safe responsible use of food preparation and service equipment plus storage after use
Sanitizing work spaces following meal preparation
Qualifications
In this hands-on position the Kitchen Assistant will work with LIFE Center staff as well as with elderly members who may require special assistance. Compassion a positive attitude and a desire to help others is important to this role as is the ability to effectively communicate special requests and concerns from staff members and families.
All applicants should have a high school diploma or GED plus at least one years experience working with geriatric patients plus work in a food service and/or preparation role. Final candidate will be required to pass an adult CPR course if he/she is not already certified.
