Job Summary
Position Title: K-5 Math Interventionist
Location: Great Hearts Northern Oaks Lower School (17223 Jones Maltsberger Rd. San Antonio TX 78247)
Reports To: Headmaster
FLSA Status: Salaried-Exempt

TheMathematics Interventionistis a highly qualified teacher of mathematics who:
Provides direct instruction to students identified as eligible for math services in 1:1 and/or small group settings.
Develops a student-centered system of intervention that effectively works to close the achievement gap in mathematics.
Ensures that students master grade level standards andcurriculum
Creates a classroom environment and research-based program of study that is conducive to learning andappropriate tothe maturity and interests of the students.
Demonstrates knowledge of scientifically based mathematics instruction.
Uses a variety of manipulatives and hands-on activities to support content standards and meet the needs and capabilities ofstudents
Effectively analyzes/uses data and conducts student assessments toidentifythose eligible for intervention services plan instruction andassiststaff members in learning various assessment techniques.
Identifiesstudent needs and data to guide the learning process toward achievement of districts math content standards.
Monitors and assesses student progress on a regular basis and provides progress reports as.
Understands how to use technology for instructional planningi.e.creating reports and using data to plan lessons.
Establishes clearobjectivesfor all lessonsunitsand projects using formal and informal assessment data.
Communicates and collaborates with classroom teachers to ensure alignment between classroom instruction and interventions.
Completes other duties asassigned
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in math education or related field
3 years of experience teaching students in mathematics in a K-12 schoolsetting
Knowledge of Algebra I and Algebra II preferred for upper schoolpositions
Experience
Proventrack recordof instructing diverse learners including English Language Learners and Special Education studentsin the area ofmathematics.
Experience and training in administering assessments and analyzing data to drive instruction.
Excellent interpersonal communication skills and the ability to build strongrelationships
Detailed-oriented with strong organization and time management skills
