Job Type: Contract - 3 Months Possible Extension
Pay: $20/hour on W2
Job Summary
We are seeking a Junior Lab Analyst to support laboratory testing scientific research and quality control activities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on laboratory experience with biological and chemical analysis sample preparation PCR plating methods and laboratory documentation.
Responsibilities
- Collect prepare and test laboratory samples.
- Perform biological and chemical analyses according to established procedures.
- Conduct laboratory experiments and accurately document results.
- Perform PCR testing culture plating and anaerobic plating.
- Use Petrifilm and other microbiological testing methods.
- Follow aseptic techniques and cross-contamination prevention procedures.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records using Excel Word ELN and LIMS.
- Prepare reports documenting test results observations and conclusions.
- Perform routine laboratory equipment maintenance and safety checks.
- Troubleshoot laboratory instruments and equipment as needed.
- Follow laboratory safety chemical handling and biological risk-control procedures.
- Support compliance with ISO 17025 quality standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Biology Chemistry Microbiology or a related field.
- 2-3 years of laboratory experience.
- Hands-on experience with PCR technologies.
- Knowledge of ISO 17025 laboratory standards.
- Experience with Petrifilm culture plating and anaerobic plating methods.
- Knowledge of aseptic techniques and contamination control.
- Experience with ELN and LIMS systems.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Ability to troubleshoot and maintain laboratory equipment.
- Knowledge of laboratory safety and chemical management.
- Strong attention to detail and documentation skills.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
