Overview
AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Junior Highway Engineer to join our team supporting the Floridas Turnpike Enterprise (FTE) General Engineering Consultant contract working as an extension of staff in the clients office in Ocoee FL (metro Orlando area).
This specialty program provides early-career engineering and construction management candidates with comprehensive hands-on development experience. The program combines real-world project work rotations across multiple disciplinesincluding construction engineering maintenance planning and toll operationsand personalized mentorship to build technical expertise strengthen leadership and project management capabilities and provide clear insight into long-term career opportunities within the transportation industry.
Your role
- Take part in an entry to mid-level career leadership opportunity to train candidates in a fast-paced A/E/C learning environment.
- Assist with fast-paced transportation engineering projects.
- Apply engineering principles and practices to deliver innovative designs on projects.
- Learn and provide daily support for transportation programs administered by the Florida Department of Transportation.
- Take part in quarterly skills development opportunities.
- Structured program involving rotation through various departments including but not limited to: Roadway Design Drainage Structures ITS Traffic Engineering Toll Facilities Design Utilities Right-of-Way Project Management Work Program Development Environmental Management and Planning.
- Will include being located with the client at their office
About you
- 3 to 6 years of technical design or construction management experience is required of incumbents with a bachelors degree; 2 to 4 years of technical or construction management experience required with a masters degree.
- B.S. or M.S. in Engineering.
- Good interpersonal skills and capable of developing technical writing and communications skills. PC and CAD skills required.
- E.I. or EIT required. P.E. desired.

Expected compensation range is between 90k-110k annually depending on skills experience and geographical location.
