About the Role

Infrastructure Engineering Inc. (IEI)is looking for great people to join our Team! We are looking for a Field Inspector who will have the opportunity to work on an innovative are a leading engineering firm known for quality and responsiveness and a proven track record of success as a Prime civil Engineering Construction Inspector works closely with the Resident Engineer to ensure conformance with standards safety and contract requirements. What Youll Do

  • Works under the general guidance and direction of a Senior Construction Inspector or a Resident Engineer.
  • Reviews field staking and makes revisions within the scope of authority.
  • Verifies levels alignment and elevation of installation using the surveyors level.
  • Coordinates activities and schedules with utility companies contractors property owners and other agencies.
  • Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures and materials conform to plans specifications and contract documents.
  • Records quantities of material received.
  • Examines quality of finished installations for conformity to industry standards.
  • Measures distances to verify the accuracy of dimensions of installation.
  • Maintains daily reports of construction activities and performs filing duties.
  • Takes progress photos of the construction activities.
  • Prepares sketches of construction installations that deviate from plans and incorporates changes into as-built drawings.
  • Performs work following safety policies and procedures.
  • Handles complaints either personally or by referring to the Resident Engineer.
  • Responsibilities may include an entire project or may focus on one specific project area.

To Be Successful

  • Associates Degree from an accredited college or university. Bachelors Degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Management from an accredited college or university preferred.
  • Knowledge of industry Standards and Specifications for different agencies.
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements: personal and workers safety.
  • Skill to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees officials and the general public.
  • Considerable skill in reading and interpreting construction drawings plans specifications and contract documents.
  • Skill in applying material testing procedures.
  • Ability to prepare organize and maintain inspection field and office data.
  • Ability to effectively communicate technical information orally and in writing professionally to contractors developers property owners employees consultants governmental agency representatives and the general public.
  • Ability to operate a personal computer including word processing spreadsheet and database software.
  • Valid drivers license and acceptable driving record for the past three years.
