Java Developer (AWS)

About the role As a Java Developer (AWS) you will join a fastgrowing engineering team building cloudnative microservices. You will contribute to the full development lifecycle from design through production support in an onsite environment.

Key responsibilities

• Design develop and maintain Java Spring Boot microservices deployed on AWS.

• Implement RESTful APIs and integrate them with relational databases using SQL.

• Containerize applications with Docker and orchestrate deployments on Kubernetes.

• Write unit integration and automated tests to ensure code quality and reliability.

• Participate in code reviews sprint planning and daily standups to align with Agile processes.

• Monitor performance troubleshoot production issues and apply fixes promptly.

• Document technical decisions APIs and deployment procedures for team knowledge sharing.

Required qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience).

• 1year or less of professional experience with Java and Spring Boot.

• Fundamental understanding of AWS services (EC2 S3 RDS Lambda etc.).

• Experience building and consuming REST APIs.

• Basic knowledge of Docker containers and Kubernetes orchestration.

• Proficiency with SQL for data modeling and query development.

Nice to have

• Exposure to CI/CD pipelines (e.g. Jenkins GitLab CI).

• Familiarity with infrastructureascode tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

• Understanding of testdriven development (TDD) and behaviordriven development (BDD).

• Experience with monitoring tools like Prometheus Grafana or CloudWatch.
