Must-haves
Strong Java development experience
Building applications/features not just test scripts
Object-oriented programming
APIs/services/backend development
Test automation experience
Selenium
Playwright
Cucumber
JMeter
Or comparable automation frameworks
Ability to write automation code not simply execute tests
Experience integrating testing into the development lifecycle/CI/CD
Comfortable working as a developer who owns quality rather than a QA person primarily responsible for testing
