The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) has a career opportunity within the Human and Community Services / Business Operations Division.

This position is involved in the analysis design execution and support for user acceptance testing. The testing and validation will take place in multiple IT projects including eligibility and benefit management systems and requires overseeing execution in overlapping software development lifecycles.

The System Testing and Data Analyst develops plans and implements test cases based on software requirements researches ad hoc files and reviews data and reporting logic. Serves as the first point of contact for any system issues and provides end user systems support.

Qualifications for this Career Opportunity

General knowledge with Software Development (SDLC) processes.

Knowledge of user acceptance testing methods as well as other information system testing techniques.

Knowledge of eligibility and public assistance programs including TANF SNAP and Medicaid.

Knowledge and understanding the discipline of testing and how to effectively implement best practices and maintain a testing strategy.

Excellent analytical written verbal interpersonal communication skills.

Ability to set-up execute and trouble shoot system functionality in alignment with expected test results and testing timeframes.

Ability to support cross-functional group activities in the development and implementation of changes.

Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment as necessary to complete essential functions.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelors degree in related degree such as information technology and human services.

One year of experience in a public assistance field working with SNAP TANF and Medicaid programs.

Prior testing experience in CHIMES EA or other similar eligibility data system.

Other equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Preferred experience with CHIMES EA JIRA and JAMA.

Additional Information

This position may be eligible for partial teleworkwithin the state of conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state policy.

The primary location for this position is Helena however other locations where office space is available will also be considered. Specific conditions will be provided by the supervisor and must adhere to state and DPHHS policies.

One position is grant funded through June 30 2027 and the other is Permanent.
