Overview

Group 1 Automotive Inc. is seeking an Information Technology Intern to join our IT team. The IT Department plays an important role in supporting the technology systems data and digital solutions that enable Group 1s business operations while driving innovation efficiency security and continuous improvement across the organization.

This internship provides an opportunity to gain hands-on experience within the technology organization of a large publicly traded company. Working alongside IT leadership and cross-functional partners the intern will contribute to meaningful projects involving programming data analytics compliance automation and emerging technologies. The intern will also gain exposure to modern technology stacks and robotic process automation (RPA) while developing practical technical and problem-solving skills in a collaborative business environment.

Responsibilities
  • Support programming tasks and contribute to development work on IT initiatives
  • Assist with compliance-related documentation reviews and process validation
  • Gather organize and analyze data for ongoing analytics projects
  • Collaborate with the Director of IT and cross-functional team members on technology initiatives utilizing modern tech stacks and robotic process automation (RPA) tools to support continuous improvement efforts
Qualifications
  • Currently enrolled in a degree program related to Computer Science Information Systems Cybersecurity or a related field
  • Preferred Minimum of a 3.00 cumulative GPA
  • Foundational programming or coding skills with familiarity in modern technology stacks and a willingness to continue learning and expanding technical skills
  • Strong coachability with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
