Position SummaryThe AI/ML Intern will support the development testing and deployment of AI-powered solutions that improve productivity automate processes and enhance decision-making across Builders FirstSource. Working with engineers architects and business teams the intern will contribute to initiatives such as AI assistants intelligent search Natural Language Query (NLQ) solutions AI agents and Generative AI applications. Responsibilities include prototyping software development data preparation testing model evaluation and supporting scalable AI solutions that deliver business hands-on experience developing enterprise AI and software solutions while building skills in cloud technologies machine learning Generative AI intelligent automation and application development. This role provides exposure to real-world business challenges and digital transformation initiatives across Builders ResponsibilitiesSupport the development testing and deployment of AI agents copilots and intelligent automation and optimize prompts knowledge bases and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) and integrate APIs Azure Functions and cloud services that support AI in model evaluation validation testing and performance cleanse and analyze data for AI and machine learning to proof-of-concept projects involving Generative AI intelligent search and predictive AI use cases technical designs and implementation and improve AI solution performance reliability and opportunities to automate business processes and expand AI to AI governance security compliance and data management RequirementsActively pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science Data Science Artificial Intelligence/Machine Learning Software Engineering or a related GPA of 3.0 or junior or senior standing; all class levels will be verbal written and interpersonal communication to collaborate effectively across diverse cross-functional analytical critical-thinking and problem-solving in Microsoft Office and SkillsArtificial Intelligence and Machine LearningSoftware Engineering and application developmentBasic programming knowledgeStrong analytical and problem-solving abilities
