Job Summary
As a power and charging systems engineer you are expected to bridge analog circuit design and system-level architecture. This requires a solid understanding of power conversion topologies (switching regulators linear regulators switched capacitors) charging systems (wired and wireless) battery management and high-efficiency DC-DC converters. You should also be comfortable addressing system-level challenges including power sequencing interference mitigation PCB layout optimization thermal management and digital interface design.
Plan system and subsystem power and charging architecture including IO trees and charging policies (wired and wireless)nDistill system requirements into IC definitions and write specifications; draft and review IC datasheetsnConduct IC design reviews and manage bug tracking throughout the full design cyclenDrive and participate in system-level discussions on power management charging and battery managementnParticipate in IP development schematic and layout reviewsnLead or assist in prototype bring-up and lab debuggingnPerform bench verification of functional and parametric characteristics including automation scriptingnConduct signal characterization across power and charging domainsnProvide production test support manufacturing support and field issue resolution
BS/MS in Electrical Engineering or equivalentn3 years of industry experiencenStrong EE fundamentals: power converters op-amps filters ADCs/DACs output driversnHands-on experience with lab equipment (oscilloscope power analyzer digital meter etc.) and circuit prototyping and debuggingnStrong verbal and written communication skills
Experience in one or more of the following areas: switching mode power supply linear power supply PMIC system power architecture wired/wireless charging high-efficiency DC-DC converters battery management (charger gas gauge BMU) camera flash/laser driversnExperience prototyping bringing up validating and debugging circuits and products in the labnExperience collaborating across hardware software mechanical and thermal engineering disciplinesnStrong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive complex tasks to completionnEffective presentation skills and comfort working with IC vendors and contract manufacturersnMS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
