Job Summary
Summary
Under the supervision of the Chief Technologist of Interventional Radiology Manager of Interventional Radiology and Administrative Director of the Cardiovascular Institute the Interventional Radiology RN will perform duties necessary to care for patients undergoing interventional radiology procedures at a technical and professional nursing level. The RN will provide pre intra and post procedural care. Performs a variety of technical procedures that require independent judgment. Assists the performing practitioner with diagnostic angiographic procedures complex vascular and non-vascular interventional therapeutic procedures and clinical patient care.
Education
Graduate from a state accredited school of Nursing. Bachelors in Nursing preferred.
Certification Registration & Licensure
Certification required: BLS upon hire and ACLS within 6 months of hire.
Licensure required: Licensed Registered Nurse in State of NH.
Experience
Minimum of two years critical care experience or three years medical /surgical experience with a strong cardiovascular background.
Responsibilities
Delivers pre and post procedural care to patients according to hospital policy.
Delivers intra procedural care in the role of circulator scrub or monitor.
Gathers data through history taking and physical assessment and interprets data in order to plan and
implement interventions to meet patient care needs.
Applies principles of purposeful organized thinking to make sound clinical judgment/decisions.
Teaches the patient and/or significant other(s) about the plan of care. Prepares patients to manage their
care after discharge.
Administers medications.
Demonstrates effective communication to the health care team in providing quality patient care.
Adheres to department policy and procedures and practices modality specific safety protocols.
Completes hospital departmental and professional requirements.
Actively engages in departmental team and committee initiatives.
Performs other duties as assigned.
