Labcorp is seeking a Laboratory Intern to join our Microbiology Team located in Indianapolis IN!

Work Schedule: Monday-Friday 8am-5pm / 40hrs per week

Job Responsibilities:

• Perform laboratory testing on patient specimens in accordance with established procedures and quality standards.

• Analyze test results and utilize independent judgment to generate accurate and reliable results within established quality control requirements.

• Maintain testing records documentation and laboratory data in accordance with regulatory and departmental requirements.

• Perform all assigned duties in compliance with standard operating procedures (SOPs) laboratory policies and quality guidelines.

• Participate in research and development activities as assigned.

• Assist with the development evaluation and modification of laboratory procedures and processes.

• Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to operational excellence within the laboratory.

• Collaborate with laboratory personnel to ensure timely and accurate completion of testing activities.

• Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by laboratory management or the Laboratory Director.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current enrollment in a scientific Bachelors degree program in Biology or Microbiology

Additional Job Standards:

• Interest in biology microbiology or related lab sciences

• Demonstrate strong attention to detail and willingness to follow laboratory procedures

• Eagerness to learn new laboratory skills and scientific concepts

• Show initiative and the ability to work independently under general supervision

• Have a genuine interest in laboratory science

• Maintains professionalism including punctuality and appropriate conduct

• Strong communication skills; both written and verbal

• Actively participates in training sessions and applies newly learned skills accordingly

About the Team:

The Microbiology department at Labcorp Biopharma Lab Services provides a range of clinical trial services for clients including providing data in different formats. They are a team of 30 members working in different positions ranging from lab assistants to Medical technologists; Scientists and different levels of management.

Internship Details:

• Duration: 11 weeks full-time

• Dates of Internship: June 1 2027-August 13 2027

• Compensation: Paid internship; relocation assistance available for qualified candidates

• Eligibility: Preferred candidates are rising juniors and seniors (Dec 2027 through June 2029 graduation) who are currently enrolled in a relevant degree program; however all current students pursuing related studies are encouraged to apply.
