IMEG is hiring an Intern-Civil Engineering summer 2027 in Naperville this role you will work closely with experienced engineers and consultants on engineering analysis design field inspections report writing permit applications and site drainage and grading designs.

You will work within project monetary budgets and collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project goals and client expectations. You will support work serving municipal and transportation markets while contributing to resilient environmentally responsible infrastructure.

What Youll Do

Assist with civil design work for project discipline systems in accordance with code and IMEG standards.

Assist with researching commercially available equipment.

Assist with client relations project design notebooks and documentation for permanent record files.

Assist with coordinating design and schedules with architectural structural electrical mechanical technology clerical and equipment-supplier disciplines.

Assist with documenting design decisions client meetings and instructions while monitoring project design progress.

Assist with reviewing project documents for accuracy and completeness before requesting a final check.

Assist with preparing and issuing addendum information.

Conduct periodic job site observations and other services required by the contract services agreement.

What Youll Bring

Required Education

Completed at least 2 years towards a Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent required

Required Skills/Abilities

May be required to assist with field duties such as surveying and materials testing

Strong interest in design consulting

Skill in the use of Microsoft Office programs CAD software and Building Information Model

Ability to clearly communicate in both oral and written communication to individuals or groups

Preferred

Prior internship experience in the building design consulting industry preferred

State of Illinois Pay Range: $22.50$24.50 per hour

The range listed above represents the base pay IMEG reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position in the work location identified above at the time of posting. For positions available in multiple locations the minimums and maximums may vary based on work location.

Individual compensation will be determined based on job-related factors including the candidates experience education knowledge skills abilities and licensure and certifications.
