Interim Controller

Were hiring on a contract basis for an immediate few-months engagement for a dynamic and hands on Controllership professional who can step in and own the accounting function from day one. This Interim Controller is hands-on end-to-end work: month-end close payroll accounting financial statement and reporting preparation and the day-to-day discipline that keeps the numbers clean and on time.

Youll work directly with the C-suite so this suits someone whos comfortable operating close to leadership and can be trusted to run the function without hand-holding. Its a PE-backed business in a build phase so the environment moves quickly and the reporting needs to be right the first time!

What youll do:

• Lead the accounting function and build out the finance and accounting team as the company scales
• Own ERP implementation and drive automation across finance processes
• Lead the accounting and finance side of global acquisition integrations
• Establish internal controls financial policies and reporting discipline ahead of first commercial operations
• Own GAAP-compliant financial statements and external audit relationships and partner with the CFO on budgeting forecasting and planning

Must-haves:

• ERP implementation and automation experience
• Experience with SAP Business One is ideal
• ADP or similar sized platform experience for payroll accounting is ideal
• Track record of building and managing a finance and accounting team not just being part of one
• Background in a labor-intensive project-based industry

Strong preferences:

• CPA
• Energy or mining experience though open to other project-based industries given the labor-intensive nature of the business
• Public and private accounting ideally including Big 4 or top 10 audit or advisory
• Able to be onsite 3 to 5 days a week
