Instrumentation Technician – Engine Testing Laboratory

Job Summary
This position will support instrumentation setup calibration diagnostics sensor troubleshooting wiring and data acquisition systems used in engine testing activities. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on technical experience and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced laboratory setting while maintaining a strong commitment to quality and safety.

- Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship.
- Install maintain troubleshoot and calibrate instrumentation and testing equipment used in engine testing laboratories.
- Support engine test cell operations including diagnostics and repair of sensors cables and related instrumentation systems.
- Build repair and diagnose custom cable and wiring assemblies using soldering and terminal crimping techniques.
- Operate and support engine testing data acquisition systems.
- Perform diagnostics involving electronics pneumatics temperature humidity and mechanical systems.
- Utilize calibration and diagnostic equipment to ensure accurate and reliable test results.
- Safely handle compressed gas cylinders and related laboratory equipment.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to calibration repairs and testing activities.
- Collaborate with engineering and laboratory teams to support testing schedules and project deliverables.
- Follow all safety and quality procedures within the testing environment.
- Experience in instrumentation electronics calibration metrology or engine testing environments.
- Previous experience working in an Engine Testing Laboratory preferred.
- Strong understanding of electronics pneumatics humidity temperature and mechanical systems.
- Experience with data acquisition systems in engine testing environments.
- Hands-on experience with basic hand tools and troubleshooting techniques.
- Ability to fabricate and diagnose wiring and cable assemblies.
- Experience with soldering and terminal crimping methods.
- Strong organizational skills and high attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel Word PowerPoint and Teams.
- Automotive or powertrain testing experience.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality and accurate test data.
