Job Summary
100% Instruction Duties:
- Duties include but are not limitedto:instruction in the specified field developing course materialsdevelopingand managing syllabi creating lectures and assignments grading student work advisingstudents and holding regular office hours.
- Teaching one or more courses in Speech-Language may berequiredorelectivesin undergraduate or graduate programs and range from1-4 credit hours.
- All instructors are expected to collaborate with colleagues be current in the field and arerequiredto adhere to departmental school/collegeand universitypoliciesand procedures.
The University of Kansas Speech-Language Hearing Department is building an instructor pool of qualifiedapplicants to serve aseitherpart-time or full-timenon-tenure trackmembers assignments may include undergraduate and/or graduate courses offeredon the Lawrence campus off campus programs and/or online programs.
Amountof workrequiredcan vary by position and will range in FTE.
TheInstructoris an instructional adjunct faculty position that is not eligible for tenure or promotion in rank. This is a term appointment fortheSpring 2027 will be based upon unit needs and funding as well as performance that meets expectations not to exceed two continuous semesters.
The successful candidate must be eligible to work in the U.S. prior to the start date of the position.
For instruction of Undergraduate-Level Courses:
- MA inSpeech Language Pathology/clinical doctorate in audiologyor relevant field OR BA in a relevant discipline & 5 years of related experience
- Masters in Speech Language PathologyOR Masters in relevant disciplineand 7 years of relatedexperience.
- Record of researchscholarshipor achievement in discipline.
- SLPD or Ph.D. or AUD or MA-SLP in Speech-Language-Pathology or Audiology or related discipline.
- Evidence or testimonyregardingexcellent teaching ability at the university level.
- Experience teachingSpeech-Language-Hearing content.
- Evidence or testimonyregardingexcellent teaching ability at the university level.
