- Instructors need to demonstrate mastery in all skills for the courses they teach. Instructors need to teach AHA materials correctly and as outlines in the appropriate Instructor Manual and Lesson Maps.
- Instructors must be able to test students effectively and maintain a high standard of ethics and professionalism when teaching AHA courses.
- Instructors need to be able to manage time space materials and paperwork in compliance with American Heart Association guidelines.
- BLS Certified by the American Heart Association as an instructor in one or more of the following: ACLS PALS NRP.
- It is required that AHA instructors be at least 16 years of age for BLS Instructor courses.
- ACLS and PALS Instructors must be at least 18 years of age and licensed or certified in a healthcare occupation where the skills are within the providers scope of practice.
