What are we looking for

The Inspector will be responsible for performing necessary volume measurements sampling calculations documentation and reporting to ensure that our customers receive an independent accurate and complete assessment of the quantity and quality of materials. This role is crucial in supporting our goal of providing a service that is accurate timely and cost-effective. This position will involve travel between Tampa and Ft. Lauderdale FL.

Shift/Schedule: On call to include nights weekends and Holidays

What youll do:

  • Conduct volume measurements and sampling of materials in accordance with established procedures and standards
  • Perform calculations related to quantity and quality assessments
  • Document findings accurately and comprehensively ensuring all records are up-to-date and accessible
  • Prepare and submit detailed reports on inspection results including any discrepancies or issues identified during assessments
  • Collaborate with team members and clients to address any concerns and provide clarification on inspection findings
  • Maintain a thorough understanding of industry standards and regulations to ensure compliance in all inspections
  • Utilize appropriate tools and equipment for measurements and sampling ensuring they are calibrated and maintained
  • Participate in training and development programs to enhance skills and knowledge related to inspection practices
  • Support the team in achieving operational goals and objectives while fostering a culture of safety and quality

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • No previous petroleum inspection experience is required; complete training will be provided
  • Strong mathematical skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to accurately read measurements follow written procedures and complete inspection documentation
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid drivers license and a reliable driving record
  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a TWIC card
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
  • Ability to work a flexible and on-call schedule based on operational needs including nights weekends holidays and extended shifts
  • Ability and willingness to travel and drive between terminals ports vessels laboratories and other job locations
  • Ability to lift and carry equipment weighing up to 45 pounds
  • Ability to climb stairs and vertical ladders and perform physically demanding work aboard vessels at terminals and in outdoor environments.
  • Ability to work safely in varying weather conditions and around petroleum products while using the required personal protective equipment
  • Dependable punctual safety-conscious and willing to learn
  • Ability to work independently after completing the required training

Preferred Requirements & Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a physically demanding industrial maritime terminal warehouse laboratory or field-based position
  • Basic computer skills including Microsoft Outlook Excel and Word
  • Familiarity with safety procedures and the proper use of personal protective equipment
  • Mechanical aptitude or previous experience using measurement or sampling equipment
