Information Systems Security Officer or Engineer

Job Summary
As an ISSO/ISSE at Calibyr you will be responsible for the development and implementation of security protocols to protect our information systems. You will ensure compliance with DoD 8570.1 standards and work collaboratively with engineering teams to maintain compliance.
In this role you will have the opportunity to
- Assist in identifying the overall security requirements for the protection of data and ensure the proper implementation of appropriate information security controls
- Ensure that the architecture and design of information systems are functional and secure including program of record systems and special purpose environments with platform IT interconnectivity
- Implement and oversee hardware and software security measures to protect sensitive information.
- Utilize knowledge of various communication protocols encryption techniques access control identification and authentication methods and PKI services.
- Collaborate with Incident Response Teams to manage security incidents effectively and provide actionable recommendations for resolution.
- Conduct vulnerability assessments and ensure compliance with security policies and procedures.
- Monitor and analyze security logs to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
- Develop and maintain security documentation including risk assessments incident reports and compliance checklists.
- Provide training and support to staff on security best practices and awareness.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree in a related field (Computer Science Cybersecurity Information Systems Mathematics or similar discipline)
- DoD 8570.1 compliant IAM Level II such as CASP CISM or CISSP
- Strong knowledge of the Risk Management Framework (RMF) requirements processes and tools
- Proven experience with information system vulnerability scanning
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols encryption techniques/tools access control identification and authentication and PKI.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.

Salary Range Information:
Salary range information is provided as a general guideline and does not include our comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted range based upon the position level job responsibilities location experience required degrees required certifications experience with specific technologies organizational needs and other factors.
- Senior Information Systems Security Officer or Engineer (ISSO/ISSE):Requires a DoD 8570.1 compliant IAM Level III certification (CISSP or CISM). Requires 4 years of relevant experience and a Master of Science degree in a related field or 6 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field or 10 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma. Salary Range: $130000 - $180000
- Principal Information Systems Security Officer or Engineer (ISSO/ISSE):Requires a DoD 8570.1 compliant IAM Level III certification (CISSP or CISM) and the ability to obtain an IASAE III certification (CISSP-ISSEP). Requires 10 years of relevant experience and a Master of Science degree in a related field or 12 years of relevant experience and a Bachelor of Science degree in a related field or 16 years of relevant experience with a High School Diploma. Salary Range: $180000 - $240000
