Job Summary

Position Summary
The Information Security Analyst I Security Automation is an entry-level cybersecurity professional responsible for supporting the organizations security operations through automation scripting and process improvement. This role assists in developing and maintaining automated workflows that improve threat detection incident response vulnerability management and security reporting.
Working closely with senior security engineers and analysts this position helps reduce manual effort improve operational efficiency and strengthen the organizations overall security posture.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Develop and maintain scripts and automation workflows to improve security operations.
Assist in automating repetitive security tasks including alert triage reporting enrichment and remediation.
Support Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) and Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR) platforms.
Create integrations between security tools using APIs webhooks and automation frameworks.
Monitor automated security processes and troubleshoot workflow failures.
Develop dashboards and reports that provide security metrics and operational insights.
Support endpoint detection and response (EDR) identity management email security and cloud security platforms.
Assist with incident response activities by developing automated evidence collection and enrichment workflows.
Participate in security tool testing upgrades and implementation projects.
Maintain documentation for automation workflows scripts and operational procedures.
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency through automation and process optimization.
Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats technologies and automation techniques.

Associates Degree Related Field of Study required or Bachelors Degree Related Field of Study preferred

Minimum Qualifications

• 02 years of experience in information security IT systems administration or software development.
• Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles and security operations.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs and JSON.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience or familiarity with:

• SIEM platforms (CrowdStrike NG SIEM Splunk)
• SOAR platforms (Splunk SOAR Torq)
• Endpoint Detection and Response (CrowdStrike Falcon Microsoft Defender)
• Cloud platforms (Microsoft Azure AWS Google Cloud)
• Git or other version control systems
• Container technologies such as Docker
• Infrastructure as Code concepts

Knowledge Skills and Abilities

• Understanding of security operations concepts.
• Ability to learn new security technologies quickly.
• Ability to automate manual workflows.
• Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills.
• Ability to interpret security alerts and logs.
• Knowledge of authentication networking and operating system fundamentals.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with cross-functional teams.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.

Working Conditions

• Hybrid with onsite work required in office candidate must be flexible for weekly or monthly business needs

• M-F Eastern business hours required

• On remote workdays employees must use a stable secure and compliant workstation in a quiet environment. Teams video is required and must be accessed using MGB-provided equipment
