Job Title: Information Assurance/Security Specialist Level IV (ISSO)
Location: Redstone Arsenal (FAHC) Huntsville Alabama (on-site)
Supporting: The Defense Health Agency (DHA) **Secret Security Clearance**

Overview

CompTech Computer Technologies is seeking an experienced Information Assurance/Security Specialist Level IV (ISSO) to provide senior-level information assurance and cybersecurity support. This position is responsible for assisting with the implementation oversight and maintenance of security measures designed to protect organizational information systems and data. The Information Assurance Engineer serves as a senior cybersecurity resource providing technical leadership and strategic direction while guiding experienced security professionals and contributing across all aspects of information security.

The successful candidate will possess extensive information assurance and cybersecurity experience strong technical and analytical capabilities and the ability to provide leadership within a complex information systems environment

Scope of Work

Key responsibilities include:

  • Provide leadership and strategic direction for information assurance and information security activities.
  • Oversee the implementation maintenance and continuous improvement of security measures designed to protect information systems and organizational data.
  • Support the assessment and evaluation of security controls and information system security posture.
  • Provide senior-level technical guidance related to information assurance cybersecurity security controls and risk.
  • Lead complex cybersecurity incident response activities and forensic analysis.
  • Assist in identifying analyzing documenting and addressing information security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Provide expert guidance regarding the implementation and maintenance of appropriate security safeguards.
  • Contribute to information security planning implementation assessment and continuous improvement activities.
  • Mentor and provide expert technical guidance to other information assurance and cybersecurity professionals.
  • Serve as site lead providing leadership and coordination for security personnel and activities at the assigned location.
  • Coordinate security-related activities with technical teams leadership and other stakeholders.
  • Support compliance with established organizational security requirements policies procedures and applicable cybersecurity standards.
  • Maintain appropriate information assurance and security documentation.
  • Perform other senior-level information assurance and cybersecurity activities as required.

Experience Education and Certification Requirements:

Experience:

  • Ten (10) years of experience demonstrating advanced proficiency in information assurance cybersecurity information security security control assessment or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining security measures for information systems and data.
  • Experience providing senior-level leadership and strategic direction within an information assurance or cybersecurity environment.
  • Experience overseeing and continuously improving security controls and security practices.
  • Experience supporting or conducting security control assessments.
  • Experience leading complex cybersecurity incident response activities.
  • Experience with cybersecurity forensic analysis.
  • Demonstrated ability to identify and address information security risks and vulnerabilities.
  • Experience in providing technical guidance and mentorship to experienced cybersecurity professionals.
  • Ability to serve as a site lead and coordinate the activities of security personnel.
  • Strong analytical troubleshooting communication documentation and problem-solving skills

Education:

  • Masters degree and/or equivalency

Certifications

Candidate must possess an appropriate commercial baseline certification aligned with the advanced proficiency level. Examples include:

  • CompTIA CASP
  • (ISC)² CISSP
  • ISACA CISM

Additional certifications relevant to technical support desktop support or DoD cyber workforce requirements are a plus.

Security Clearance Requirements:

  • Active Secret Clearance

Salary:

  • $100000 - $105000 plus Full Benefits PTO 401k
