Job Summary

MalaceHR is seeking an Industrial Cleaner to work within a manufacturing/production environment. This position will primarily support the facilitys recycling and zero-waste initiatives while maintaining production-floor areas.

This is not a traditional janitorial position. Employees will not be responsible for cleaning restrooms vacuuming offices or routine mopping. The primary focus will be operating floor-cleaning equipment collecting and sorting recyclable materials and removing items such as metal wood pallets cardboard and other production waste.

Schedule

Candidates must have some flexibility with scheduling.

  • 1st Shift: 7:00 AM 3:30 PM 2 openings
  • 2nd Shift: 3:00 PM 11:30 PM 1 opening
  • Occasional Saturday work may be required
Key Responsibilities
  • Support the facilitys zero-waste-to-landfill initiative throughout the production environment.
  • Collect separate and properly dispose of recyclable materials including:
    • Metal scrap
    • Wood
    • Pallets
    • Cardboard
    • Other production and recyclable materials
  • Transport recycling and waste materials to designated collection or disposal areas.
  • Operate riding floor scrubbers sweepers and other industrial cleaning equipment.
  • Maintain cleanliness of production-floor areas and designated workspaces.
  • Move materials equipment and supplies manually or with carts hand trucks or powered equipment.
  • Operate a lift truck or similar material-handling equipment when properly trained and authorized.
  • Follow established recycling waste-disposal and environmental procedures.
  • Identify and report maintenance or safety concerns to supervisors.
  • Maintain organized recycling and waste collection areas.
  • Follow all facility safety procedures while working around production operations and equipment.
  • Perform additional industrial cleaning material-handling and facility-support duties as assigned.
Safety Requirements

Employees will be working primarily on an active production floor and will be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment including:

  • Steel-toe safety shoes
  • Safety glasses
  • Protective gloves
  • Additional PPE as required by the facility
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the shift.
  • Frequent walking bending lifting stooping squatting reaching and kneeling.
  • Regularly lift and carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to occasionally lift move push or carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to safely push and pull carts recycling containers and equipment.
  • Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks in an industrial environment.
  • Ability to work around manufacturing equipment and production operations.
Required Qualifications
  • Previous industrial manufacturing warehouse facilities recycling or related experience preferred.
  • Ability to safely operate floor scrubbers or willingness to learn.
  • Strong attention to safety and surrounding production activity.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to work independently and manage assigned responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to adapt to changing work assignments and facility needs.
  • Dependable attendance and ability to work scheduled shifts.
  • Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience operating a forklift lift truck or electric tugger.
  • Previous forklift/lift-truck certification is a plus; training can be provided.
  • Experience working with industrial recycling or zero-waste programs.
  • Experience operating riding floor scrubbers or similar industrial equipment.
  • Previous experience working in a manufacturing or production environment.
