Job Summary

Job Overview:

A CT/XR Technologist is responsible for operating computed tomography (CT) scanners and Digital X-ray equipment to produce detailed images for diagnostic purposes. Key duties include preparing and positioning patients explaining procedures to ensure their comfort and capturing high-quality images. Performs a variety of technical procedures by applying principals of radiation protection and ALARA that will require independent judgment with ingenuity and initiative. Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. They must review the images for clarity and completeness making adjustments as needed. Adhering to strict radiation safety protocols is essential as is performing routine maintenance and troubleshooting of equipment. Accurate documentation of patient information and imaging details is crucial and CT/XR Technologists collaborate closely with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret images and support diagnostic decisions.

Education:

ARRT Certification is required CT registry preferred

Illinois State IEMA Certification required within six months of hire.

Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.

Experience:

New grads accepted. Two years experience as a staff technologist is preferred.

Licenses/Certificates:

ARRT certification is required.

Illinois State IEMA certification required.

Current AHA Basic Life Support (BLS).

Compensation:

Pay Range: $27.50 - $44.25
