MalaceHR is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician for an opportunity supporting a commercial campus consisting of five buildings. This position is responsible for maintaining troubleshooting repairing and operating HVAC mechanical electrical and plumbing systems while ensuring safe efficient and reliable building operations.
The ideal candidate will have strong commercial HVAC experience Universal EPA certification and experience working with Building Automation Systems (BAS).
Responsibilities
Perform preventive maintenance and corrective repairs on HVAC mechanical electrical plumbing and building systems.
Operate inspect troubleshoot and repair commercial HVAC equipment and associated systems.
Monitor and respond to alarms through Building Automation Systems (BAS) including Siemens Schneider Electric and Metasys platforms.
Maintain HVAC equipment to maximize efficiency reliability and equipment life.
Perform facility inspections and identify maintenance or operational issues affecting building performance.
Complete interior and exterior building repairs including lighting walls flooring fixtures and related building components.
Respond promptly to emergency maintenance calls.
Prepare maintenance reports and document equipment conditions and recommended repairs.
Utilize CMMS software to manage work orders and preventive maintenance activities.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and documentation.
Follow all safety policies procedures and applicable building codes.
Support general facility maintenance needs across multiple buildings as required.
Qualifications
Required
Universal EPA 608 Certification
Minimum of 4 years of commercial building maintenance or building engineering experience
Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC systems
Experience troubleshooting mechanical electrical and plumbing systems
Experience working with Building Automation Systems (Siemens Schneider Electric Metasys or similar)
Valid drivers license with the ability to travel between local sites
Ability to safely lift up to 80 pounds
Ability to climb ladders up to 30 feet
Strong troubleshooting communication and organizational skills
Commitment to workplace safety and compliance with applicable codes and regulations
Preferred
Knowledge of overall MEP and HVAC system design
Experience using Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
Experience supporting commercial office laboratory healthcare or life science facilities
Strong customer service and communication skills
Work Environment
Support a campus of five commercial buildings.
Primary work location is Wilmington MA with occasional travel to nearby Boston and Cambridge facilities.
Work in temperature- and humidity-controlled commercial environments.
Participate in an on-call rotation approximately every 56 weeks.
