Job Summary
MalaceHR is seeking an experienced Facilities HVAC Technician to support a commercial/industrial facility in Nashville TN. This position is currently temporary and is intended to provide coverage for an employee on a leave of absence through the end of the year.
The technician will be responsible for maintaining troubleshooting and repairing HVAC refrigeration and related building systems across a four-building campus with approximately 90% of the work concentrated within one primary building.
This position does not currently require participation in the on-call rotation although occasional weekend work may be needed depending on facility requirements.
Operate maintain troubleshoot and repair commercial and industrial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on HVAC systems and equipment.
Service commercial HVAC units including equipment in the approximately 68 ton range and larger commercial systems.
Maintain and repair:
Air handling units
Exhaust fans
Fan coil units
Reheat coils
Fume hoods
Refrigeration equipment
Associated mechanical systems
Troubleshoot temperature and comfort-related service requests throughout the facility.
Check system pressures voltages electrical components and operating conditions during troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
Troubleshoot HVAC controls electrical systems and mechanical equipment.
Perform light plumbing electrical carpentry and general facility maintenance as needed.
Replace lighting bulbs ballasts and related components.
Complete and document preventive and corrective maintenance work orders.
Utilize Corrigo or a similar CMMS/work order management system to track maintenance activities.
Maintain accurate equipment and system documentation.
Provide limited support for new equipment installations and facility projects.
Coordinate with vendors and contractors when necessary.
Assist with moving equipment furniture machinery and facility materials when required.
Maintain a safe secure and well-maintained facility.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
High school diploma or GED required.
EPA 608 Universal Certification required.
Minimum 23 years of commercial or industrial HVAC experience required; additional experience is preferred.
Experience troubleshooting and maintaining commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
Strong understanding of preventive maintenance procedures and HVAC troubleshooting.
Experience checking refrigerant pressures electrical voltage and mechanical operating conditions.
Working knowledge of electrical and plumbing systems is strongly preferred.
Experience using Corrigo or another CMMS/work order management platform preferred.
Ability to use hand tools power tools diagnostic equipment and maintenance equipment safely.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and effectively manage daily priorities.
Strong attention to detail and interpersonal communication skills.
