Job Summary

MalaceHR is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician III to support the maintenance troubleshooting repair and operation of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. This role is ideal for a skilled technician who enjoys solving complex mechanical issues performing preventative maintenance and ensuring building systems operate safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will also serve as a technical resource for other technicians while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot repair and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment including:
    • Chillers
    • Boilers
    • Air handling units
    • Rooftop units (RTUs)
    • Cooling towers
    • Pumps
    • Building automation and control systems
  • Perform preventative maintenance inspections testing and scheduled service to maximize equipment performance and reliability.
  • Diagnose mechanical electrical and controls-related issues using technical documentation schematics and diagnostic tools.
  • Respond to emergency service calls and quickly implement effective repairs to minimize downtime.
  • Maintain accurate service records maintenance logs and work documentation.
  • Assist with HVAC system upgrades retrofits and capital improvement projects.
  • Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve system efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced technicians when needed.
  • Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable safety standards codes and regulations.
  • Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
Required Qualifications
  • Refrigerant (EPA) Certification required.
  • Commercial HVAC maintenance and repair experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills involving HVAC refrigeration electrical systems and controls.
  • Experience servicing commercial equipment such as chillers boilers RTUs air handlers and pumps.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints wiring diagrams schematics and technical manuals.
  • Experience performing preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
  • Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in mechanical rooms at heights confined spaces and varying weather conditions.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers contractors and team members.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with commercial HVAC manufacturers such as Trane Carrier or York.
  • Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) including Tridium Johnson Controls Siemens or Honeywell.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
  • NATE RSES or manufacturer-specific HVAC certifications.
  • Experience working in commercial office buildings healthcare facilities educational institutions or other large commercial environments.
