Job Summary
MalaceHR is seeking an experienced HVAC Technician III to support the maintenance troubleshooting repair and operation of commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems. This role is ideal for a skilled technician who enjoys solving complex mechanical issues performing preventative maintenance and ensuring building systems operate safely and efficiently. The successful candidate will also serve as a technical resource for other technicians while maintaining high standards of workmanship and customer service.
- Troubleshoot repair and maintain commercial HVAC and refrigeration equipment including:
- Chillers
- Boilers
- Air handling units
- Rooftop units (RTUs)
- Cooling towers
- Pumps
- Building automation and control systems
- Perform preventative maintenance inspections testing and scheduled service to maximize equipment performance and reliability.
- Diagnose mechanical electrical and controls-related issues using technical documentation schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Respond to emergency service calls and quickly implement effective repairs to minimize downtime.
- Maintain accurate service records maintenance logs and work documentation.
- Assist with HVAC system upgrades retrofits and capital improvement projects.
- Monitor equipment performance and identify opportunities to improve system efficiency and reduce energy consumption.
- Provide technical guidance and support to less experienced technicians when needed.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with applicable safety standards codes and regulations.
- Maintain a safe and organized work environment.
- Refrigerant (EPA) Certification required.
- Commercial HVAC maintenance and repair experience.
- Strong troubleshooting skills involving HVAC refrigeration electrical systems and controls.
- Experience servicing commercial equipment such as chillers boilers RTUs air handlers and pumps.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints wiring diagrams schematics and technical manuals.
- Experience performing preventative maintenance and emergency repairs.
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in mechanical rooms at heights confined spaces and varying weather conditions.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with customers contractors and team members.
- Experience working with commercial HVAC manufacturers such as Trane Carrier or York.
- Experience with Building Automation Systems (BAS) including Tridium Johnson Controls Siemens or Honeywell.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
- NATE RSES or manufacturer-specific HVAC certifications.
- Experience working in commercial office buildings healthcare facilities educational institutions or other large commercial environments.
