Technician will assist the Director of Facilities/Maintenance in guiding and advising the Chester County School District in the selection of new equipment that provides appropriate air quality systems to fulfill district requirements.
Technician will be responsible for air quality systems from installation to end-of-life by
performing maintenance and emergency repairs.
Technician will be responsible for repairing and maintaining the districts walk-in refrigerators
and coolers.

HVAC Technician Requirements:
High school diploma GED or suitable equivalent.
Two (2) years experience as a HVAC service technician or certification of completion from an accredited HVAC program.
Willingness to attend classes relative to specialized equipment.
Ability to work with school personnel contractors and their employees and the public
Ability to work in the absence of immediate supervisor.
Ability to work with other people
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before small groups of employees of organization.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions either written or oral.
Valid drivers license.
Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning refrigeration and heating.
Working knowledge of boiler systems.
Proficient in balancing air and water treatment systems in line with HVAC protocols.
Excellent written verbal and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
Ability to work after hours over weekends and on public holidays with short or no notice.
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students staff and the community.
Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts interest commissions proportions percentages area circumference and volume.
HVAC Technician Responsibilities:

Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
Cleaning adjusting repairing and performing preventative maintenance on all Chester County School District systems.

Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
Keeping daily logs and records of all maintenance functions.
Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Complying with service standards work instructions and Chester County School District requirements.
Assisting the Director of Facilities/Maintenance with district staff requests.
Assist other maintenance staff with task not related to HVAC
Other responsibilities and duties as required.
