Job Summary
Commercial HVAC Estimator
We are helping a company hire a HVAC Estimator that is responsible for reviewing plans and specifications selecting HVAC equipment performing quantity takeoffs preparing proposals and supporting the sales team. The ideal candidate has HVAC industry experience and can interpret construction drawings. Service technicians looking to move into an office-based career are welcome.
Job Type: Full-Time Direct Hire
Location: Irving TX 75039 (4 days onsite 1 day remote)
Education: High School Diploma/GED required - (technical/industrial training preferred)
Travel: Minimal (1% occasional overnight travel for training)
Salary Range: 50k to 65K DOE - plus commission
Key Responsibilities
- Review plans and specifications to prepare accurate quotes and estimates.
- Analyze construction processes schedules and technical documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Support Outside Sales Engineers by assisting with equipment product selections and value engineering options.
- Enter customer and product information into company systems with a high degree of accuracy.
- Provide pricing and product information to internal teams and customers.
- Communicate daily with internal team members and vendors; limited external customer contact.
- Use computer-based pricing and selection tools to prepare bids and proposals.
- Perform administrative tasks related to project management including order processing and documentation.
- Maintain a professional customer service demeanor while balancing multiple deadlines.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical/industrial training beyond high school preferred.
- 3 Years HVAC Estimator experience or 3 Years Commercial HVAC Technician or combination
- Strong math critical thinking and analytical skills.
- Basic understanding of HVAC mechanical equipment and concepts preferred.
- Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; ability to learn new programs and tools.
- Highly detail-oriented with excellent accuracy in work.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bid deadlines independently.
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills.
Working Conditions
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
- Regular movement throughout the office to access files equipment and supplies.
- Frequent use of office equipment including computers calculators copiers phones and printers.
- Repetitive hand and finger movements required for computer use.
- Noise level ranges from low to moderate.
